Bible Gateway's Verse of the Day

This praying wife :)

This is a beautiful prayer I wrote a while back that I do not say enough:

Lord, I pray wisdom will enter my heart and knowledge will be pleasant to my soul (Proverbs 2:10). I pray that in everything set me as an example, by doing what is good. In my teachings and words show integrity, seriousness, and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose me will be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about me (Titus 2:7).
In Your Word Lord, It says that everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way. Guide my words and actions to fit your orderly way (1 Corinthians 14:40). Reveal to me what is right, just and fair in every situation (Proverbs 1:3).
Lord, I ask you to reveal others to me as you see them, with your love, understanding and kindness. Show me how to walk in your righteousness. Teach me how to be humble (2 Chronicles 7:14), Discerning (1 Kings 3:9), and how to stand firm on your word (Ephesians 6:11). I pray all this and thank you for all that you have entrusted (1 Timothy 6:20) in me and for  the women you are turning me into, A true Proverbs 31 women. In Your Precious name, Amen.

The Prayer of a Military Wife

Give me greatness of heart to see,
the difference between duty and his love for me.

Give me understanding so that I may know,
when duty calls him, he must go.

Give me a task to do each day,
to fill the time when he’s away.

When he’s in a foreign land,
keep him safe in your loving hand.

And when duty is in the field,
please protect him and be his shield.

And Lord, when his deployment seems so long,
please stay with me and keep me strong.

------Marriage is hard! But it can be awesome! The most important things are simple and we over look them everyday! We don't pray for our husbands, we hold our husbands to a standard that is unrealistic and we don't forgive easily. I have so much info and help in this area, I thought it would be good to share.

I love these 6 statements! They cover pretty much cover everything. I admit I lack in living by them so much of the time, but I strive to get better!
1. I forgive (my hubby) for (offense that was committed).
2. I admit that what was done [against me] was wrong.
3. I do not expect (my hubby) to make up for what he has done.
4. I will not define (my hubby) by what he has done. Instead, I will define him as someone who needs just as much grace in life as I do.
5. I will not manipulate (my hubby) with what he has done.
6. I will not allow what has happened to stop my personal growth.

Also, if you are military, an awesome website for marriages is  excellentorpraiseworthy.org

They have a 4o day Love Dare, for deployment, it is along the same lines as the love dare book.

The Power of a Praying Wife

------The Power of a Praying Wife by Stormie Omartian,  is a wonderful book! It takes you through the journey of praying for every area of you husbands life, and softens your heart in the process, and, if possible, causes you to fall in love with the man you married in a true way like never before. Through the pages you understand a mans heart, his mind, and his stresses. You understand how you relate to him and if it needs to change. Surprisingly this book was most amazing because it changed me! In the beginning of the book she explains, " This book is not means of gaining control over your husband, so don't get your hopes up! In fact, it is quite the opposite. It's laying down all claim to power in and of yourself, and relying on God's power to transform you, Your husband, your circumstances, and your marriage."
Mrs. Omartian goes on to say, " Prayer is a gentle tool of restoration appropriated through the prayers of a wife who longs to do right more than be right, and to give life more than get even."

All in all it is a wonderful tool to have in your marriage and help you to become a better wife and trust God more with what is important, you husband!
