Bible Gateway's Verse of the Day

My Daily Journey

Day 68: (5-15-12):

Very rare, a pic of myself 2012

Well it has been a long day, but a good one. I took my 13 year old for a physical, and she is perfect! (of course!) I also got a text from my Hubby! Which I believe is a no-no, but I am not sure :) It definitely made my day! I am beginning to miss him tremendously! It feels like it has been forever and like I still have forever!
We also started to get our things ready for the yard sale this weekend. I have a lot of junk! Hopefully we can make enough money to matter for the trip to Mississippi!  Maybe I should sale a child!? (Just kidding, I love each and every one of them!)
I did have a sad moment today. I miss my family. I miss having them around and talking to them. I know everyone is busy, just as I am, but I wish somebody could come visit me! What I really wish is we lived close enough to actually have a relationship with them, more than through Facebook, email, or a hand held device! I just keep reminding myself that we retire from the Navy in 6 years, and can choose where we want to live! After all we have been through the last 3 years, that doesn't seem like long. Well that is my piece for tonight, Sweet dreams :)

Day 67: (5-14-12):
Maleigha, Mychaela, Makenzie, Madison, Matt, & Micah at the Mystic Aquarium 2011

Wow! It has been a long while since I have sat down and shared my life! As you can tell it has been so busy! My hubby is officially out to sea! And it seems like it has been forever! I forgot what it was like to have no contact with your better half. Well except for email a few times. And those were like gold! I wouldn't sell them for a million dollars!
The past few weeks have been busy, with dance classes and youth groups. My kids performed at the local christian school in our town. It was great! We kept busy with school work and playing outside. Bike riding is the favorite among all of the children. And it is finally hot in New York!
I promise to keep up with the blog from now on, I just got lazy and instead of sitting at the desk typing I chose to go to bed! This moma is tired!!

Day 48: (4-25-12):

Leigha dancing on stage at The Parting Glass in Saratoga Springs NY 2011

What an awesome week!! I forgot what it was like to have my hubby living here again (even if for just a week)! I found that when he does move back in next year (hopefully) It is going to be an adjustment. From sleeping in the same bed to sharing disciplining the children. It seems like it would be easy. After all you have done  it all on your own and help would be great. But I have found, when you go from the person in control or in charge, to the one sharing control, it isn't easy. The human nature side of us says, "I have had this, I don't need you coming in and changing things!" Or when you let your husband share responsibility you find yourself constantly correcting him because it isn't your way.  This is a crazy conundrum that the military lifestyle causes us address, amongst many other things! But I can't wait for the challenge!!!

Day 41-47:(4-17-12 thru 4-23-12):
Mychaela, Makenzie, Maleigha, & Madison, Father/ Daughter dance 2012

Madison

Makenzie

Maleigha

Mychaela

Daddy & Mychaela

Daddy & Madison

Well the last week was amazing!! My hubby came home on the 18th!! And is still here! (he leaves tomorrow) We have had an amazing week of just hanging out and spending time together! A much needed week of family time! Justin also made it home in time for the Daddy/ daughter dance!!! The girls had an amazing time and felt like princesses all night! I will get back on track with my daily journal as soon as he leaves. But for now, I am going to spend every minute with my handsome hubby and wonderful children!!!!

Day 40: (4-16-12):
During the "Soul Fest" concert in New Hampshire, 2009 Micah and Makenzie feel asleep while the other kids were up front Jamming with Daddy!

Today was a day of waiting and waiting and waiting....
I knew that it would be afternoon before he called but there is always that but what if, so I carried my phone everywhere! Finally at 4:30 the phone rang, his wonderful ring tone!!! The kids all screamed and yelled in excitement!! You see, we spent the day cleaning and packing just in case we needed to go to Connecticut to see him. So we were literally waiting to run out the door and make that 3 hour drive if needed! Knowing the whole time we might be unpacking as soon as he called too(or should I say hoping! We really want him to come home).
Anyway, there was his beautiful voice, as wonderful as birds on a spring morning! And what did he have to say? He will be home from Wednesday until the following Tuesday!!!! I feel like I won the lottery!! hahaha! The fact that I have to wait almost 2 days to see him doesn't even matter! He will be home for almost a week!!!! And guess what else? The father/daughter dance that we decided not to go to... Yep, they are going!!!!! Daddy gets to take his girls!!!! God is so great! Just when you think something is impossible, He surprises us!! I am a very, very blessed women!!!

Day 39: (4-15-12):
Mychaela at Dollywood in TN  2007

Justin, Makenzie,& Jessica at Dollywood in TN 2007

Today was church at SALC. It was great! We had a relaxing day at home catching up on rest after our long, fun week! I got a call from my phone tree person and my hubby's sub pulls in tomorrow!!! I am so excited! I can not wait to see him!! Tonight is not going to go by fast enough!!

Day 38:(4-14-12):

Me, Madison, Justin, & Mychaela in Lake George 2007

Today was fun! We started getting the yard ready for our garden. Not as easy as I thought! I had all 6 kids (and a couple of neighborhood kids)with shovels and rakes pulling weeds and digging up roots! We now have a family of worms living in our garden, named and all! After we gave up for the day, we walked up and got a slushy (love Cumby's slushies)! It was a nice day!
Madison spent the day at Six Flags/ New England! She had a blast and rode every roller coaster! She bought me a pink, coffee cup with "bling!" She know her moma well!

Day 37: (4-13-12):

Madison & Matthew 2007

Friday the 13th! My brother always said that Thursday the 12th was much scarier!! :)  We cleaned house today. Matt went and rode bumper cars and played in the batting cage with his friend and Madi went to her youth group at Harvest. Fun Friday!

Day 36:(4-12-12):

Madison & Mychaela 2008 (chaela broke her arm the same day!!)

It is Thursday! Another day closer to seeing my Hunny!!! I can't wait! I got 2 emails from him today! Everything at sea is going great! And if he doesn't get to take a day or 2 of leave when he gets back, I am going to Connecticut!!! (anyone wanna invite us to stay at their house so we don't have to pay for a hotel?!)
We went to the movies today to see Big Miracle, the whale movie. We have a theater in our little town, Scotia Cinema, that only cost $24 for us all to get in!! It is great on a rainy day! The movie was great.

Day 35: (4-11-12):

Makenzie, Mychaela, & Maleigha in Lake Placid NY, 2008

A little tired today! The kids stayed up until 2 am! Sleepovers are fun, but exhausting! It was a slow paced, relaxing day. We played outside and walked to the store for slushy's. It was pretty cold for spring! The day ended well with no accidents, injuries, or hospital trips! :) I am missing my hubby though. It is easier with him being out to sea instead of just living 3 hours away. I think knowing that if I were in Connecticut we would have seen him everyday was killing me. It has been like he has been out to sea for the past 2 &1/2 years. I don't even know what it is going to be like when he moves back into our house! I have been a "single" mom for a long time! But I definitely can't wait!!! I miss having dinner ready when he gets home, going to bed with him, and waking up to him!! Oh just to be patient for another year...

Day 34: (4-10-12):

The kids sleeping in Texas!! 2009 (they all caught the flu!!)

Maleigha, Makenzie, & Mychaela at Soul fest in New Hampshire 2009

I got a call last night!!! His voice was a breath of fresh air :) I love love to get phone calls from him! Today was an awesome day! We went to Jumpin Jacks for lunch and played at the park after. Then we all went to the mall to use some gift cards we collected through the last few months at birthdays. Of course my kids were awesome! The girls got an outfit for our Mississippi trip! We are so excited to all be going  to the boat commissioning in June! Justin's side of the family will be meeting us there! A big ol' family reunion!! Watch out Mississippi, the Law's are coming!!
Madison is spending the night with a friend, and Mychaela is having a friend over to spend the night tonight. It's a party at our house everyday :) Day 34 was another great day in the neighborhood!

Day 33: (4-9-12):
Justin and I at the Submarine Ball 2010

Well I am now very sad! I thought all day Justin's boat was pulling in, which meant I would hear his beautiful voice. But i jumped to conclusions about a message, and assumed I would get a call but Nope, I am not! Notta, no sireee! No call! Nothing! Not a word! (ok I am out LOL). I will have to hold out for a few more days/weeks. Sigh....
Other than that today was good. We cleaned out and rearranged a little. It was a good 1st day of spring break! But it was cold!!! New york spring breaks are not as cool as Georgia  spring breaks! There will be no bathing suits out in the Law house this week! On a good note, I made the best fried chicken ever for dinner! Thank you southern roots for my good food gene!
We are ending the night with Just dance 3!!! Fun fun at the Law house! Gotta go it is my turn :)

Day 32: (4-8-12):

                                            June 10, 2000 Justin and I :)

                                            Happy Resurrection!
The day started slow. We played and got some house stuff done. The girls played dress up in my closet, which meant that it took them 10 minutes to make a mess and 45 for me to clean it up! But they looked beautiful in my gowns that I have collected over the years. And it is probably the only wear the dresses will ever see again anyway. We drove to Saratoga NY, to pick up Madison after lunch and it was such a beautiful day we took the long scenic route. On the way back we stopped by a three story play ground in Glenville, NY. We played until time to leave and fix dinner. It was a great day to be outside! And they had an awesome time! I got a message from my phone tree caller (a wife with info about the boat). Unfortunately since I do not live in Connecticut, I was a little saddened by it, but hopefully I will get to hear my hubby's voice very soon. I can't wait until I can see him again. Absence makes the heart grow fonder definitely, but if my heart gets any fonder my hubby will need to wear protective gear so my first hug of excitement doesn't kill him! :)

Day 31/32: (4-6-12/ 4-7-12) :

The USS Mississippi headed out to sea for the 1st time!!! April 2012
Madison, Mychaela, & Maleigha (Maleigha's 1st dance class) 2008

(4-7-12):
Everyone slept in this morning! It was great to not get up before the sun does!! We played outside most of the morning. The younger kids and I walked to the store and got a slushy. I love spring/summer! Madison and her friend went to lunch by themselves (first lunch date alone).  Today is my hubby and my 10 year anniversary for when we gave our lives to God! I can't believe it has been so long! I can't imagine where we would be if we hadn't decided to trust him all those years ago! God has been so great to us and blessed us with so much!
Madison went to her friends to spend the night. The rest of the kids and I pulled out the couch bed, had popcorn and watched a movie together, Spirit. We all love that movie. The kids had a camp out in the living room, but I escaped to my bed when they all fell asleep. :) Great night with great company!

(4-6-12):
Jessica being silly during spirit week at HS 2009

Friday was a great day. We just hung out for the morning time and read stories and watched cartoons. I read the story of passover and had fun toys to go along with each plague. The kids had a great time. Madison had youth tonight as well. She had a friend go with and spend the night. After we came home and watched movies and got ready for bed. The older kids were still up when I finally went to bed at 2am!! Oh and we decided to not go to the Father/ daughter dance. We'll just wait until next year so our really daddy can take all his girls :)

Day 30: (4-5-12)
Justin being silly and Me 2008

Today was busy! I had bible study in the am, it was wonderful! Our book is about our children's heart and the discussions are so good. I love the group of women too. We are so different we add a lot to each others lives.  I then brought the kids home and ran to the grocery store for Passover grocery's. Only to be followed by,grabbing the kids, running to dance class until 8, and then was back home to cook our passover meal! We ate at 9! We talked about the first Passover and Jesus' Death and Resurrection. It was so much fun! I love my babies! We watched a Veggie Tales before bed, and the beginning song sings, "It's time for Veggie Tales..." Which Micah yelled, "No Bob! (the character) It's time for Passover!" hahaha he is a funny guy!

Day 29: (4-4-12)
Matt Madison, Mychaela, & Leigha at the Saratoga race track in 2009

Crazy day today. Madison had to babysit from 11:30 to 4:30. Then she had dance until 6:30. We cleaned house, did laundry from the never ending land of clothes!!I keep saying I am going to get rid of some of there clothes, but I never do! Girls stuff is so darn cute! We are also getting ready to celebrate passover tomorrow! Very exciting day in our house! Although since dance is our life, we have class from 4-8, and then we are having a late dinner and celebration! Fun, Fun! And guess what!!!??? I had a Skype date with my hubby!!!! All the kids were very excited! They tried on dance costumes and made funny faces with him! When he lives here again, I think we will Skype him from the bedroom just so they can play on video :)

Happy Anniversary Justin Phillip Law! It has been amazing!!!

Day 28: (4-3-12)

Madison, Maleigha, Mychaela, Matt, and Makenzie in 2007

Well today is my anniversary, 12 years! I have 2 anniversary's because I had a shot gun wedding (court house) and a ceremony in June. So get ready for my crying in June too! I will spend it alone today, crying in bed, tissues and snot all over the place ... Just kidding! A navy wife with 6 kids must move on! I will buy myself a bottle or wine, cheese, crackers, olives and sit and thank God for my amazing life and marriage. And I will look forward to celebrating again with my hubby! Madison had her babysitting Job today! And she did awesome. She kept a 4 month old and an 18 month old. She is set up for anything, because she handles poop, spit up and crying like it was no big deal! She is awesome!

Day 27: (4-2-12)
Alicia (my sis-in-law), Me, Jessica (my sis-in-law) and Nanny (Justin's grandma) in 2009 having a girls day out at Applebees!

Today was another normal day; School and housework. Although I did fix the garbage disposal and started renovations on a dresser for the girls room. We were going to youth at SALC, for Maddie but, we got a call from my beloved and decided to stay home in hopes to talk to him more (and hopefully Skype)! Unfortunately neither happened :( I guess I will have to hold on to next time :)
Tomorrow Maddie has her 1st really babysitting job! She is excited! An 18 month old, and a 4 month old. She is the best babysitter in the world, so this family is lucky :) She will be there from 8-5sih! She is saving for a lap top (and the way she is going I don't think it will take her long to get it!). So if anyone out there needs a sitter, give us a call! She is the best!!

Day 26: (4-1-12)

The Law Tribe in NYC- Times Square (Uncle Jordan is on the side) 2009

My girls and they're big brother (Matt, Maddie, Kenz, Leigh, & Chae) in 2007

We had church today, it was amazing. Pastor Joe talked about being a servant. It was a great sermon, that I will be referencing this week. I also signed my girls up for the daddy daughter dance :) No my hubby will not be there, but They're gonna have a sub-dad for the day! They're all 4 so excited to join in on the fun and to feel like a princess! It is all they talked about the whole way home!! ( Thank You Jenn! You are wonderful!) Oh and it is April Fool's Day, which doesn't mean anything in my house usually, but since I have a 13 year old...
I was running late to church. I ran to the kitchen to rinse my to go coffee cup (because I can't leave home with out it) and someone, no name needed, put a rubber band around the sprayer on the sink! Needless to say, I had to change my shirt and the whole car laughed all the way to church! hahahaha.....

Day 20-25: (3-27-12 thru 3-31-12)
36 weeks pregnant with Micah Zhane Law! ( He turned out to weigh 10lbs 4 oz!!) in 2008

What a crazy week! Tuesday we hang out around the house getting school done, housework accomplished and playing outside for a bit. I had a special delivery from 1-800-flowers too! A dozen beautiful yellow roses from my hunny! And a card that made my heart really happy :) Wednesday we has dance and school and housework... and school and housework.... haha! It was a nice day though. Thursday started a little rough. A head cold sweep through a few of us. We visited Dr. Hickey (best family doctor in the world!), everyone is alright.  We went to dance at 5 and... a funny story....
Justin called at 6:30, off for the night, and after both of us shared out "I wish we were together," I thought, "Why aren't we?" So I told the dance teacher and all the kids we were leaving NOW! We rushed home, gathered a change of clothes and toothbrushes, ran by the gas station and were on the road headed to Connecticut by 7:00!! No one can ever say we aren't spontaneous enough!! We arrived at the hotel room by 9:30, and was greeted by the most handsomest man ever!
We stayed thru Saturday morning. It was a much needed trip to see daddy! My heart is full, counting my blessings. I have been upset that my hubby isn't around as much when I should be excited that I have a husband I love more than words can explain and he feels the same way about me, and 6 amazing kids that let me drag them around at a moments notice to stay in hotel rooms and sleep on floors and whatever other adventures I can find! Thank you God for my amazing life, and forgive me for complaining and not seeing the bigger picture!

Day 19: (3-26-12)
The kids at Alpine Lake in the back of Aunt Tara's van, jamming! 2011
Micah, Ella, Mychaela, David, Matthew, (behind) Maleigha, & Makenzie

Today was a busy but good day. I did some spring cleaning, The kids did school work all day, pretty much our normal routine. Monday is Madison's youth at Saratoga Abundant Life, which is 45 minutes from our house. This means that from 6:30 until 8:30,  all 5 children and I have to find something to do. It was defiantly too cold to play at the park (spring in NY... You just never know what the temperature is going to be!), so we went to the mall. The mall use to be a great place to browse and relax for me, but recently I noticed it is just no fun anymore! I have 5 kids all pointing in different directions, all talking at once, and hungry or having to go potty! We left after 30 minutes, went to a drive through and sat in a parking lot having a snack. All kids buckled in their seats, music on, mommy happy! I do have to say my kids are amazing though! No one cried, no one whined, no one ran ahead, no one talked loud or yelled, no one ask for anything and when they did, they wanted it for their birthdays. It was nice that no stupid people looked at us like we were crazy! Usually people think that having as many children as I do I am either: 1. on welfare, 2. in a religious cult, 3. all my babies have different daddies, 4. their tax money supports us, 5. they were all unplanned or a mistake! And I have to set them straight (which I have done more times than I can count), 1. We are not on any government assistance (not even wic), 2. We can't be defined by any religion, just ask our friends lol, 3. All my babies have one awesome, excellent dad, 4. I pay school tax, but my kids are home schooled, my husband risks his life everyday on a submarine in the US Navy to protect the citizens of this country! 5. NONE of my children were a mistake and I will give you my number so when they are running this country one day, you can call and thank me! I think maybe I will print out flyers so I can just hand these people a piece of paper and not waste my breath on them!
PS: (at lunch I got a text saying I Love You, Made my day!)

Day 18: (3-25-12)
Camping in New Hampshire 2009 (Soul Fest)
Maleigha and Mychaela (both were in Time out! LOL)

We were late to church today, but we made it! It was great as always! I got a little emotional when they announced there would be a father daughter dance on April 22nd :( Times like those make this separation not worth it!!  Anyone want to be a substitute dad so my girls can go? :/ We relaxed around the house and played outside the rest of the day. I got a phone call from my beloved tonight!! It was great to hear his voice! Tomorrow starts our crazy week again: Mon-youth at SALC, Tues- church at Harvest, Wed- Dance, Thurs- bible study & dance. Fri- youth at Harvest & Kids for Christ at SALC! (deep breath...)

Day 17: (3-24-12)

 Giovanni Joseph Mikel Law
Born: March 24th 2012 @ 10:01
7lbs 8oz 20 in long

Today we had Matthew's 11th Birthday party. We expected 11 kids but only 2 came (and 2 of Madi's friends came to see her)! And I was the only adult!! I was a little upset at first but he had an amazing time, so it went well I guess. Just not what I am use to. We usually have a house full! The good thing is we had great party food to eat on all week!! My newest nephew arrived today too!!! Giovanni Joseph Mikel Law!!! 7 lbs and 8oz. 20 in long!! Congrats Jordan and Kammy!! And he is just beautiful! I am so excited for them but sad for me! Living so far away sucks at times like these! I hate that being in this situation has made it where we can't visit home. I haven't seen 2 of my niece/ nephews now and I am missing all the rest of them grow up. I sure do wish I was close to family or that they came to visit more!! They day ended well. We got a movie, Tooth Fairy 2, and had snacks before bed. Another good day :)

Day 16: (3-23-12)

 Justin, Madi, Maleigha, Makenzie, Matt,
(and Mychaela behind Justin) 2007 apple picking in Fall, New York
(before #6 Micah was born)

Today was hard. Not only did my hubby and I have a "disagreement," but I had to say goodbye. And even though I knew it was coming, it was rough. Just listening to him tell each of the six kids bye and what he expected of them while he was gone was heartbreaking! I am very excited to tell people what he is doing, embarking on this adventure, but it is still heart wrenching that he isn't going to be here. He has been absent from a lot of the "duties" over the past 2 and 1/2 years but he is still the "daddy" or rock of the family. And everyone feels it at their own maturity level. The trick for me will be being very sensitive to their feelings, no matter how they express them. And finding a balance between compassion and understanding and correction.
Our day consisted of cleaning and getting ready for Matt's birthday party tomorrow. And playing outside in this beautiful weather! I sat in the back yard and read 1 whole chapter of a book (thank you Granny)!!! I am so ready for spring and summer! Tonight we played Wii games (which are always fun) and then watched an old movie that was one of my favorites as a kid, "Richie Rich." It was a fun night.

Day 15: (3-22-12)
Sunset at Bluffs Point in Connecticut 2011

Ever have days where you just don't feel like talking or sharing anything? This is one for me, so I plead the 5th.

Day 14: (3-21-12)

Justin, Maleigha, & Me 2008 in Vermont camping
(and doing the Vermont Sun Triathlon...well Justin did, But I cheered loud!!)

Today was busy! We cleaned out winter clothes and replaced them with summer clothes!! My favorite time of the year! All the cute sun dresses!! And of course we did school as well. Madi had dance from 4-6:30 and after we put together our patio table! Our back yard is coming together nicely! We have a table, chairs, umbrella and tiki torches :) Perfect for summer hanging out! Now I need a play house, sand for the sand box, maybe a swing set... LOL I could spend a billion dollars on a backyard hang out! I can't wait for my hubby to enjoy it with me! Maybe a nice fall night :/
We ended the night with Wii American Idol. So much fun! The kids are way better than I am though! Another awesome day with my great family!!!

Day 13: (3-20-12)

 Matthew in 2007

Happy 11th Birthday
Matthew Phillip Law!
Today was my 1st born son's 11th birthday! I can't believe it has been 11 years! He has such a big heart and care for other people, he is just amazing!
He is also a ball full of energy and after our day together I am exhausted!! First he and I went and had lunch at buffalo Wild Wings. He ate wings, played music and games. He was in an 11 year old boys heaven! We then went shopping and to Wal-mart to get goodies for his party on Saturday. We were out ALL day!!! But he had a blast! And when we got home... His amazing sisters and little brother, had decorated the house and baked him a cake! He opened the front door and they all jumped out and yelled, "Surprise!" It was a proud moment for this momma!!! We finished off the evening by a outside dinner in some amazing weather and watching "Green Lantern." It was a great day!

Day 12: (3-19-12)
Chewy, Kenz, Chae, Micah, Lei, & Madi on a Sabbath stroll 2009

Well we packed up the hotel room today and left Connecticut. It wasn't to sad because we had an awesome last weekend with my hubby and our reunion will be only a few weeks away. We can keep our minds strong and our hands busy until we are together again!  We arrived in New York just in time to change clothes and head to a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese. It was a great time with good friends. We left the party in time to rush home, freshen up, and head out again! Madison had her first youth at our church from 6:30 to 8:30! While she was there we ate dinner and shopped around a bit, since church is 45 minutes from home, it doesn't make since to drive back and forth. If our days keep up like this we we will time is gonna fly until we see Justin again! Madison had a blast and can't wait until next Monday to do it again!

Day 11: (3-18-12)

Justin and I at Soul Fest in New Hampshire, 2009

Well we were intending on going to church today but all of us, including the kids slept until 10!! I guess all of our running around caught up with us! So we decided to lay around the hotel, watch a movie, then shower, and go outside! It was beautiful! We went to the park in Connecticut and threw the football around with some great friends, The Castaneda's. For dinner, I had to get my Irish fix since I didn't on St Patties Day, so we went to the Irish Pub for some Corned beef and cabbage, with the Castaneda's and all 9 kids in tow! All I can say is YUM! :)
Since my husband works everyday all day, he had no clean laundry so after dinner we took the kids to his barracks room and watched a movie as we washed dried and folded! We watched Jack and Jill, funny movie. All in all it was another awesome day with my big family and friends! This was the last I will be seeing of my hubby for about a month! I am a strong women and I can handle it!! (and when I can't I will probably come crying on here as I eat my chocolate and drink my glass of wine!)

Day 10: (3-17-12)
Nap Time at the Law's! Justin, Micah, Matt, Madi, Kenz, Chae, & Leigh
No! I am not under there!!! :) 2009

                                       Happy St Patty's Day!!
Well my hubby called at 8am and told me to book a hotel room and come now, with our 6 children (one was at a friends house)!! I really love him because I buzzed around the house, packing clothes and cleaning a bit. I got gas, aired up the tire, grabbed lunch, picked up Madison, who was at an all night lock in, and was in Connecticut by 2:30!! My 13 year old was sleepy, cranky, and coming down from a serious sugar high. My 10 and 8 year old's were mad because we were missing our traditional St. Patty's day, Sunday lunch with the Newells at the Parting Glass. My 5 and 7 year old's were mad because we were missing church. And my 3 year old was mad because he had to sit in the car for 3 hours! So our drive did not start off very happily! By the time we were there, all dressed in green, we checked-in to our room, and waited....and waited... and waited....
It was really only an hour before my hubby was there with us, haha, but it felt like forever! So my St. Patty's day was great! I spent it with my wonderful family, hubby included!!

Day 9: (3-16-12)
Mychaela, Maleigha, Matthew, Madison, Makenzie, & Micah in 2008

Last night was rough. I had an emotional moment :/ But all it well now. I gave myself a pep talk! Madison's toe is not broken!! It is just jammed really good! So she will be sore for the next few weeks. I am hopeful I will see my hubby soon. Either a quick visit to New York, or I will go to Connecticut and get a hotel room. Although NO hotel allows 6 children!!! That is crazy! Tonight I will be a taxi driver, 3 children to Saratoga, then pick up a friend and run her and Madi to Clifton Park, then back to Saratoga to get the 3, then home to Scotia!
I also have my Corned beef and cabbage ready to go!! Happy St. Patricks Day everyone! :)

Day 8: (3-15-12)

Madi, Matt, Chae, Leigh, Kenz, & Micah at the Mystic Aquarium
                          in Mystic CT, 2011

What a day!! It started with bible study this morning. It was great. And my talks with my Neighbor  ( who carpools with me) are amazing. She uplifts me and lets me vent, she is great! On my way home, I get a call from Madi who has stubbed her toe. Laughing it off I get home, to what looks like a broken toe!!! So after a few hours at the Doctor and Emergency room, we are waiting to hear in the morning if it is broken and we have to go to the ortho or not. I don't know if everyone read yesterday's post about her dance life, but her dance is POINTE! That is on her toes!!! She is holding strong and being hopeful that it is just jammed or bruised and she will only be out for a week or two, but I can see underneath her strong face! This will crush her. I pray for her sweet heart!
All the other kids are great. They all went with us to the Dr. and ER, we had a great time! I have amazing kids. They all had dance tonight as well. It was a fun time for all. Tomorrow Madison goes to her 1st lock in at church and all the kids have KFC (Kids for Christ). It should be a fun night :)

Day 7: (3-14-12)

                                   Madison and Makenzie, Recital 2011

Good day :) I got my hair done today, my 2 year ritual. I love love it! It is a great spring do. The kids had very relaxing day doing homework and chores... :/ Then Madi had a few hours of dance, Her passion! Our dance teachers make it well worth her time! They are amazing! Not to mention she loves helping teach the younger girls. It is awesome to see her be so dedicated to what she has wanted to do since she was 3. And it is what she wants to do for life. I am one proud Mom! (I am actually so seriously proud of all 6!!!)

  I Love this :)

Day 6 (part 2):

Justin and Mychaela playing at the children's museum
                             in Schenectady NY, 2007

The day turned out great! We visited a new church (Harvest). It was a lot of fun. We aren't looking for a new church, we love, love ours, but it is something to do on Tuesday to past the time. I figure if I surround myself with good, Godly women daily, not only will I make it through this period of my life but I will come out stronger in the end!  We went to Taco Bell after (since it was 9:30 pm), and operation healthy clashed with bean burrito! I am sad to say, Bean burrito kicked operation healthys' behind!! I will try harder next time :)

Day 6: (3-13-12)
From Left to right: (back)Madison, Matthew, Maleigha
(front) Mychaela, Micah, And Makenzie, 2011

Today has already been LLLLOOOONNNNGGG!!! (and it is 11:30!) I woke to a beautiful day, fed my children and began on our morning chores. Everyone was happy and getting along. I went upstairs to make sure everyone was dressed and beds were made so we could begin school. I found my three younger children throwing a stuffed animal out their window! After I was over the heart attack, I explained (and punished) why this was so dangerous and to never open the window again. Their reply, "Ok Mommy." That simple! You opened a window 2 stories up and threw toys out while your 3 year old brother was watching and all you say is, Ok mommy, with a smile on your face!!?? Arrrrrr!!! ! The lesson I learned? #1 Nail all windows shut! For protection when they are young, and my sanity when they are teens! :) #2 Never trust happy giggling from another room for too long, it means something seriously bad is happening! #3 No one can raise children without having a heart attack, a stroke, or a midlife crisis, without Gods help!!!
Thank you Lord for patience and self control!!!

Day 5: (3-12-12)
Me and Makenzie, Matthew, Mychaela, Madison, Justin,
                                                  and Maleigha in 2006.

Today was a good day. I started operation healthy. So far so good, No cheating. The test will be when I put the kids to bed. I have a late night snacking addiction! It was a warm sunny day as well. We played outside in between our home school subjects and played baseball in the street with the neighbors and their kids this evening. I talked to my Hubby on the phone for a few minutes this afternoon. They moved the boat into the river, very exciting! Today was a busy, beautiful day. The kind of day that goes by fast, which is the best kind when you are counting down! The thing is about our countdown... We don't have a set in stone date. Just playing it by ear each and every day. I could see him tomorrow or it could be a month! This is exciting and sad all bundled into one. (sigh...)

Day 4: (3-11-12)
Suit night in Saratoga Springs NY, Me and Justin 2008

Today was a beautiful day! We had a great church service and then all went to the movies (minus one of course). We saw, "I bought a Zoo." Good movie. And then it was so warm we played outside for a bit! I am so ready for spring and summer! I plan on spending 90% of it outside keeping our time occupied. I also went by the grocery store to buy lots of fresh fruits and veggies. Tomorrow starts operation healthy! Since my back surgery I can't workout, so I will be eating supper healthy to get back into shape!!! (fingers crossed) And since I just made it public, I hope to stick to it :/
I also realized today at church that I have an awesome group of women behind me, Supporting me! That feels good! Everyone should have women like these in their lives! The world would be much happier!

Day 3: (3-10-12)
Family Pic: Justin, Me, Jessica, Madison, Makenzie, Matthew,
Maleigha, and Mychaela (and Micah was in my belly!) 2007

I am really writing this on day 4, because I skipped day 3! ( I had a really handsome 24 hour visitor!!!)

Day two (part 2):

Me and Justin at the Sub Ball, in Connecticut 2010

I was thinking today about the things I will miss doing being a submariners wife from far away instead of close by: 1) I will miss dropping him off in the parking lot and giving that farewell kiss. I will miss how I feel as he is walking away. 2) I will miss that moment where he calls and surprises me with, "Come get me now!" 3) I will miss being around a group of women who understand what I am going through.
Ok so I am done being emotional for the moment :)

Day Two: (3-9-12)

                                   Maleigha, Madison, Micah, Makenzie,
                                            Mychaela, & Matthew 2009

Well it is the beginning of day two and I have one child with the flu/fever  already! Looks like this first week is going to be a busy, sleepy one! The good news is Friday is our day to deep clean the house, so we have a lot to do. That means no time to think that hubby isn't here :) I have started a list of creative things to do with the kids to pass the time quickly. I think I have everyday filled with church or dance class! (great, supportive women!!) One thing I am thankful for in this new chapter of life: Sunshine!! The dreary winter is gone and I can open my blinds every morning and soak up the warmth! That makes anything a little better!!

Day one: (3-8-12)
                                               Me and Justin 2007

After living apart from my hubby for 2 and 1/2 years, this isn't a big adjustment yet. It has only been a day since I saw him so it will take me at least a week to fall apart for the first time, haha. I think I will start a "visit my sailor," Fund, so I can get a hotel room every time he pulls into port! Anyone want to make a donation? :)
